At the time of writing, the patch Xbox consoles hadn’t rolled out yet, although CD Projekt Red promised that it is “working to have the update out as soon as possible.” Keep an eye out for that fix. Judging from the reports we’ve heard so far, it’s the PS4 version of the game that needs the most attention at the moment, with other versions of the game performing a bit better than Sony’s last-gen console. According to our own staff writer Matt Byrd, the PC version of the game is running relatively smoothly compared to what’s happening on consoles. You can check out his advice for the best graphics settings on PC here. Meanwhile, I’ve been playing the game on Google Stadia, and have encountered a few bugs, including the naked guy who just so happens to be floating in the middle of the road in the very first town you visit in the game. I clipped him by accident (I mean, who expects a naked man to be floating there like that?) and the nasty sheriff immediately started shooting at me. If only he’d seen how things really went down. The most important fix of all is an adjustment to the flashing effect in the braindance segments of the game, which caused at least one reporter to suffer a seizure while playing. CD Projekt Red added an epilepsy warning to the PC version of the game after the report appeared on Game Informer. The studio says in the new patch notes that it has now “modified the flashing effect on braindances to reduce the risk of inducing epileptic symptoms. The effect has been smoothed out and the flashes reduced in frequency and magnitude.” This is certainly good news. Here’s everything else that’s been fixed in 1.04: Quests
